Which dive site will we visit?

Sikka Il-Bajda, also known as White Reef or Hoofer’s Reef, is a dive site located off the coast of Malta. This site is especially suitable for experienced divers due to its depth and the diving conditions. The average depth of the site is about 20 meters, with a maximum depth extending to 42 meters.

The reef itself is quite large and features a variety of small caves and crevices, along with a significant drop-off that goes down to 70 meters. The reef’s topography includes some areas partially covered with seaweed and others that are bare and less explored. Unfortunately, the reef has been affected by fishing activities, with trawlers causing a reduction in marine life and leaving behind lost nets.

The bay is home to a variety of marine creatures including bream, chromis, sea urchins and fireworms, giving divers and underwater photographers an exciting glimpse of marine life. Landscape – the seabed here is sandy, decorated with large boulders and vast meadows of Poseidonia. If you dive deeper into the sea, you’ll find even larger boulders covered in algae, adding to the rich underwater landscape of this site.

Cavern and Reef Formation: this dive site features a shallow cave about 3 meters deep at the foot of a cliff with a huge open hall. This is an ideal spot for those who love the combination of the beauty of reef and cave diving.

As the dives are done quite far from shore, there is a possibility that the diver will start surfacing before returning to the boat. For safety reasons, we insist that each diver has a personal safety buoy (SMB) and recommend a marine or pneumatic whistle.

Our boat is originally designed to be safe for active sports: Scuba diving and freediving but retaining the comfort of a private yacht: lounge area, kitchen, shower/toilet all on board.
We’ll be happy to see photographers, biologists, archeologists and marine researchers on board.
