Lockheed P2V Neptune

Lockheed P2V Neptune

Location: Malta, next to Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq (35.9423° N 14.4764° E).

Depth: 30 up to 32 meters.

This fascinating aircraft was designed to replace the Lockheed PV-1 Ventura and PV-2 Harpoon for the US Navy, and was later succeeded by the Lockheed P-3 Orion. Even though it was meant for land use, a few of them were converted and launched from carriers with the help of JATO. The Neptune proved to be popular among different armed forces and was exported to several countries.

Dive experience:

As for the dive experience, the wreckage consists of the fuselage and wing stubs with engine covers. The wings themselves are half-buried nearby. It’s interesting to note that the plane was intentionally sunk for a movie in the late 1950s and was only discovered in 2015. It’s definitely worth diving down to check it out!

Casper wreck

Location: Malta, (35.9470° N 14.4800° E)

Historical notes:

The steam ship, 1880-1920 built, found in 2014 by a team of technical divers. It was never identified and named “Casper”.

Diving experience:

The stern of the ship remains intact, with the propeller and rudder visible on the starboard side, while the bow of the ship is either missing or hidden in the sand. We can find the boiler system, located in the middle section of the ship and in relatively good condition. This system allows us to look inside and see the cooling system and fittings, but there is no manufacturing plaque, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact origin and age of the boiler. The boiler itself is impressive in size, measuring over 10 feet (about 3 meters) in length and about 5 feet (about 1.5 meters) in diameter.

Note: We are interested in authentic photos from the location. Read the offer for professional photographers.
